Situation
The client is an end grain cutting board producer, MTM Wood. The cost of one board is from $54 to $378.
Besides cutting board, they engage in sales of board's 3D drafts. The customers pay for a 3D draft of the wood board and do it on their own.
The main project goal is to develop a mobile application for an online cutting board shop.
Application requirements:
- Using by iOS & Android devices.
- High quality of wood product's images.
- Opportunity to attach drafts in PDF, SKP, video on Youtube.
- Russian & English interface version.
Solution
- Conducted a customer survey at the meeting, jointly filled out a brief, and identified the basic requirements for the project. The result was the development of the technical specifications with prototypes of application screens. Developed the application design based on screen prototypes.
- Prepared an API web server for the backend side of the store based on OpenCart CMS.
- Developed a mobile application on the Xamarin platform. Development was carried out first for iOS, and after acceptance by the customer, a version for Android was assembled. During the development process, the intermediate versions were demonstrated every 2 weeks to control each stage of development.
- Set up Firebase Analytics. It helps to track sales funnel stats & conducted final testing of the project, fixed all issues, and passed all acceptance tests.
- Created accounts in App Store and Google Play Published the application. All the emerging issues were quickly resolved during the 3 months warranty support for the project.

Results
- The application is available in App Store & GooglePlay.
- It is possible to open PDF files with drawings inside the application.
- It is possible to make purchases of goods in the application with payment through Apple Pay & Google Pay.
- Videos from the Youtube channel are added to the description of the goods. Links to Instagram and Facebook are also added to the application, to disseminate the information about the goods of the store.
- The application has English and Russian versions.
